The Chinese Bronzes
Western & Eastern Zhou · c. 1111–256 bce

A group of archaic ritual bronzes spanning the Western and Eastern Zhou dynasties and beyond, each authenticated by formal scientific examination including metallographic analysis. Material evidence of burial context — organic matter, inscribed dedications, and the corrosion signatures of long interment — connects these objects to the ritual and mortuary traditions of early China.
